The garage door version of the Jesus I Saw That meme. This is the format people buy when they want the joke visible from the street but do not want to put a stake in the lawn, and it is the one that gets photographed and sent around the family group chat.

Pick your size by where it is going

Size is measured by height, and getting it wrong is the only real mistake available here.

3 inch for a fridge, a toolbox lid, a locker, or a filing cabinet. Reads from across a kitchen, not across a yard.
6 inch is the all-purpose pick. Good on a car door, a fridge, a metal shop cabinet.
9 inch for a car or truck door panel where you want passing drivers to catch it.
12 inch for a garage door. This is the one people mean when they say garage door magnet. Anything smaller looks lost on a 16 foot door.

What it sticks to, and what it will not

This is a printed magnet, so it needs ferrous metal. Steel garage doors, car and truck doors, refrigerators, toolboxes, filing cabinets, and lockers all hold it fine. It will not stick to aluminum, fiberglass, or vinyl, which rules out most newer garage doors on the low end and a fair number of truck tailgates. If you are unsure, hold a refrigerator magnet against the surface first.

If you are running it on a vehicle, pull the magnet off and wipe both the magnet and the paint about once a week. Grit trapped underneath is what scuffs paint, not the magnet itself. Take it off before a car wash and before highway speeds over a long haul.
